There’s no question why Boracay remains as the world’s best beach. On our 3D2N escapade at the island we stayed at two different hotels: Azalea Hotels and Residences Boracay and Villa Caipirinha.
Ever since I’ve been a fan of Azalea after staying at their hotel in Baguio last year (read my experience here). Compared to the lodge style of their hotel in Baguio, Azalea Boracay has that tropical vibe with its white-washed buildings. There’s the signature ball at the entrance and the reception area is really cozy though it can be really crowded especially that we stayed during the summer season.
INSIDE AZALEA BORACAY
Azalea Boracay is located along Station 2 and it’s just a 10-minute walk from the beach front. The lobby is very interesting especially that the wall at the front desk is filled with lcd panels giving you a very cinematic feel. Inside the hotel there’s the Kuya J Restaurant which I find surprising since I was expecting it to be an in-house restaurant just like Tradisyon in their Baguio hotel.
ONE BEDROOM SUITE
We stayed at the one bedroom suite which can accommodate up to 2 kids, 2 adults or 4 adults. I really liked the room since it looks really cozy and cool. As expected, everything was superb. The only thing that I didn’t like about it is that our room has no view. The view at the balcony was another hotel. Nevertheless, it’s near the beachfront so it’s still a good point.
AMENITIES
There’s a pool at the deck which unfortunately I wasn’t able to try. After partying and getting pretty wasted (read my Boracay PubCrawl experience here), I went back to the hotel and headed straight to the pool area. Nothing beats hangover than a cold dip. Sadly, the pool is open until 10 pm only.
WHAT I LOVE
Service
Complete toiletries
Cozy room
Proximity to the beach (Station 2)
Waterproof key wrist tags
I just love the rooms. They’re elegantly designed. Service is also nice as expected from them. Proximity to the beach is also a plus point. While it’s not really in front of the beach, it’s just a 5 to 10-minute walk. Tricycles are also available any time. But what I really love the most is that they have this blue waterproof wristbands that also serves as your key card. Really innovative!
WHAT I DON’T LOVE
Lobby is too small. Very crowded during peak season.
Pool is not available 24/7
Since it was summer, during our checkout time the lobby was very crowded. Almost all the seats were occupied. Also, how I wish the pool was available 24/7.
RATES
The deluxe room costs around Php 7,000 ($139) for off-peak season though you can get it for as low as Php 3,200 ($63). Check here for the current promos and rate.
Cheers~!
