Friends that eat together, stays together. Food hunting is definitely our way of bonding. We are always on the lookout for new places to dine and nothing beats a friendship that revolves around food. Because food is love!
I can’t remember how many food parks we have visited already and the list just keeps on growing. A couple of weeks ago we dropped by at Iron Cabana, a new food park along Congressional Avenue extension (it’s near Tandang Sora and Visayas Avenue). Although it’s not technically new (they opened 2 years ago), they underwent renovation and the new place looks so cool.
GOING DOWN
Finding Iron Cabana can be quite tricky. Though it’s easy to track it using waze, it’s not really that visible from the streets. The reason behind it is because Iron Cabana lies on a lower level. On a street level, you’ll just see a gate with steps going down. The concept actually reminds me of Baguio and Tagaytay where you have to go all the way down. This is nice because you get to enjoy the food without all those noise and awful view of the traffic.
A RUSTIC CHIC VIBE
The place has an industrial vibe with stalls that are reminiscent of container trucks. String lights lit the place giving it a kind-of hippie feel. In the middle you’ll find the bar surrounded by the wooden dining tables. What’s really nice about the place is that despite the industrial look, it feels so cozy, perfect for those chill moments.
CHEAP FOOD, GREAT FOOD
Here’s the thing: we’ve been to great food parks and I have my own favorites like 150 Maginhawa, The Yard at Xavierville and Commonwealth StrEat but great food usually comes at a cost. After all, you do get what you pay for. However, the case of Iron Cabana is different. We were surprised that the food here are very cheap and affordable. You can already get good food for just Php 100-150 per meal. The drink is almost half the price of other food parks. When I saw the price, I was expecting the food to be mediocre of the serving will be small but I was surprised because most of the meals are good for 2 already.
Fooood! How are we supposed to finish all of this? LOL!
Our favorites include the Beef and Mushroom Pizza from Benegusti Ristorante, Liempornsilog from Besilog, Pulutan Platter from Dalo’s Grill (this is super worth it!), Machi Cure (Japanese Nachos) from Bimi Bucket (monster nachooos served in a tall can) and my personal fave, the #IKRChocolait premium ice cream shake from InstaDesserts.
Bae-cooooon!!
DESSERTS!!
You know me as someone who’s not into sweets. I’m not a fan of desserts but I just have to add this. InstaDesserts‘ #IKRChocolait tastes like heaven! It’s quite pricey at Php 168 but it’s super worth it. You guys need to try this one!
PRICE LIST
Here’s the menu and price list for your reference:
HOW TO GET HERE
I'm not sure if there are public jeeps in the are but it's best to go here either via private car or taxi. The place is on waze so going here should be easy. If you will be coming from Mindanao Avenue, your landmark will be KFC. Just turn right and go straight ahead. Iron Cabana is just along the road.
Feeling hungry now? Go over and head to Iron Cabana! It's worth the visit.
