If you are always at the SM Mega Fashion Hall, then most likely you have seen this restaurant. Located just beside the entrance, Chelsea Kitchen is an alfresco type of restaurant wherein everything is open. For some, it can be quite an issue on privacy but actually I love alfresco dining. For some reason, it’s a change and besides, it’s nice to eat without that feeling of being enclosed inside a box. A huge plus is that you can see everything that’s happening in the kitchen so you are sure that everything they serve is freshly done.
Named after Chelsea in New York, Chelsea Kitchen revolutionizes the modern cafe. Offering classic dishes with a twist such as the Tinapa Pasta and the Tinapa Pizza, Chelsea Kitchen combines New York and Manila in every dish. While one may find them weird (actually I did!), it’s a must try and I do have to say that their Tinapa dishes were a-mazing. It was unexpected and it was worth coming back for. Other favorites are the Bagnet and the 4-Hour Cola Ribs. Imagine indulging yourself with the fave Filipino comfort food paired with sour apple onion jam.

Overall, our dinner over at Chelsea Kitchen was unexpected. Well, I guess that’s the best word to describe them. While some of the dishes might appear pricey (for me), their winning dishes as mentioned like their Tinapa are really worth it. It’s something new and it’s worth the try. Plus, their desserts are so yummy especially the ‘Pieces’ Pieces which is like Reeses over dark chocolate. It’s a fave. And I guess I’ll be back here soon. The ambiance was great, the service was great and it did not disappoint. Note: if you’ll drop by, it’s best to have someone with you since most of their dishes are good for sharing. 🙂
