Doctor Strange: Of Defying Physics and the Concept of Time and Space

October 29, 2016EventsNo CommentsJustin Vawter

Time is of the essence. For someone who has always been a fan of traveling, you need to make sure that time is with your side. It is your best friend. But what if you could bend it and defy all the concepts of Physics? This is Doctor Strange, a story about astral powers and protecting the world using metaphysics.

I am a fan of Marvel (who doesn’t love them?) and to watch Doctor Strange is an awesome and exciting experience. It was the perfect gift to self after a draining final exam. The best way to celebrate the end of the sem. Went straight from class to IMAX Theatre at SM Mall of Asia to catch the exclusive screening of Doctor Strange. I was literally running just to catch it. Good thing I was able to make it on time.

What's the best way of ending the semester? An exclusive screening of Doctor Strange! Time to let all the stress away and #OpenYourMind. 🙌 And daaang! #DoctorStrangePH was a blast. The effects was one of the best I've ever seen. The 3D brought it to a whole new level. You guys should definitely see this. It won't disappoint. (P.s. went solo tonight coz forever alone. 😂 hopefully after this the law of physics and time will give me a love life. Lols!)

I had little expectations about the film since I don’t want to disappoint myself but I must say that they exceeded everything beyond what I have imagined it to be. To those who are not familiar, Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange who met a tragic accident causing his hands to fail. Because of this, he had a hard time accepting that he can no longer perform his duties as a surgeon, something he has worked very hard for. Depressed, he went to search for ways to heal and encounters The Ancient Onewho taught him mystical arts. In the process, he became a protector of the sanctums and must deal with the dark forces in order to save humanity while saving his very own ego and self.

Doctor Strange is a brilliant story about letting go of one’s ego and pride in order to attain inner peace and thus unleash our own powers. The cinematography was awesome and the effects was honestly one of the best I’ve seen. Though there are times where it can get really dizzy especially that there are lot of psychedelic flashes throughout the film. Nevertheless, it was really a film worth watching. It was smart and unexpected. It wasn’t boring too. It’s kinda funny at how they added jokes that lighten up the mood. Plus, come on, it’s Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, and Rachel McAdams!! Overall, you guys should definitely watch this. It’s worth the experience.

P.S. Do wait for the end credits. It’s Marvel. No one leaves the cinema not until the end of the credits. You’re in for a surprise.

#DoctorStrangePH opens October 26 nationwide. Time to #OpenYourMind. Watch the trailer here!

Cheers~!
